so tonight i attempted to make caramel popcorn... notice the word attempted! *sigh. i decided to pop some popcorn, which is not unusual. i have microwave popcorn, and a microwave. i even have kettle corn! so i decided to pop a bag of that, and in the midst, i decided well the caramel part can't be too hard right? i have lots of brown sugar, and i know that's a main ingredient. so i run to this handy dandy laptop, google it... well it calls for corn syrup... uhh that could be a problem... so i google ingredient substitutions... honey can be used, fyi. so i just thew some ingredients together... brown sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and some honey... thew the bowl in the microwave... well i think i cooked it too long in the microwave, i didn't know you could burn things in a microwave, but yes you can.
anywho, my first attempt of caramel popcorn failed, it wasn't everything i hoped and dreamed it could be... perhaps i'll just have to perfect this recipe. stay tuned...
