Retail Therapy

So sometimes you know you just need to go shopping... you're feeling down in the dumps and need a pick-me-up. I can't exactly go get a new hairstyle, so I went shopping. And while there are malls and regular stores to buy things, that's not what I wanted to do... I needed some culture and to do things traditionally... this means I went to the fabric store to pick out my fabric. These traditional outfits are called Salwar Kameez. They come already paired up, the shirt, pants, and dupatta (shawl), but then you have to take them somewhere else to be sewn. I went kinda crazy that night and bought 5 outfits! But they're so cheap so I didn't feel too guilty! After spending an hour in the fabric store picking out the exact fabrics I wanted, I paid and walked to my 2 favorite tailor ladies! The most fun part of this is getting to pick out the neckline! They're always fun and different! I only chose for a few of the fabrics and then let the ladies decide the most stylish ones for the others!

First we have the cranberry outfit. Don't let the pants get you dizzy!

Next is the pink and green outfit... I like to think of this one as a Christmas year-round outfit!

For a while now I've wanted an outfit where the top was plain, but then pants were the pattern. You can't tell but there's a tiny piece of the pants on this neckline, called the Butterfly neckline.

Black and brown really do work together! And this is yet another neckline I let them pick out... you can't tell in this photo but at the neck of the back there are ties! Oh and this fabric is soooo soft! It's a silk blend.

For this pose I'm not sure what was going though my head! haha. But you can barely see the back of the neckline - it dips in the front and the back... most of the shirts here are that way. This is my electric blue outfit.

And thus concludes this fashion show! =)
