Children

This morning I went with some other workers who live near me to a children's home outside the city. It's a place for orphaned children or children who's parents can't afford to get them to school. It's run by believers, and these kids are adorable!! Here's a video of "This is the Day" which they sang for us when we got there! I hope yhe little kids bless your heart as much as they blessed mine!!

On the drive I got to experience a little more of my area!! I really got to break out of my comfort zone, and see some real poverty. People who can't afford houses just set up tents using sheets and tarps. There were mountains here and there that we passed by, and almost ruins, just pieces of stone where a house used to be. Being from MS, I'm used to riding roads and looking for deer... well today it was looking for monkeys! We saw a whole family, about 6 monkeys in all!! I also got to see cows grazing in real grass! Eating grass, not garbage off the street... I guess I feel a little better about drinking milk now! =)

Lastly I got to see a banana tree complete with bananas hanging from it! WOW! I really do live in the tropics huh!! Here's a picture of a tree, look in the middle for bananas hanging!! YAY!
